Vehicles in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities mentioned they were alerted by a man who noticed a vehicle in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement report they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police say preliminary tests suggest the substance was likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; investigators are currently not cognizant of any injuries in connection with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives said they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the public for details.

An important official commented the vandalism left him speechless and required to be addressed promptly.

"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he stated on online, recalling the death of nine people by a assailant targeting residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
